Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
There are three soldiers interred here, from WWI, WWII & the Korean War (a Vietnam Unknown was identified through DNA testing and his remains were exhumed). This was probably the most meaningful place, for me. I saw the changing of the guard. You were allowed to photograph it, but I was watching for the right moment to put my hand across my chest. At first, the ceremony seemed very slow, mechanical and meticulous but, suddenly, a finger of dignity, honor, and humility touched my heart. They had to do every little thing perfectly. Nothing less would do....
Almost every night, I ended up trying to capture the view without a tripod. These are Tuesday's attempts.
